When I was a little girl growing up in mid-Michigan, I often dreamed of taking care of animals someday. I would spend hours reading to my dog Sammy or going on adventures looking for other animals.
After eleven years of teaching Spanish to 8th graders, my heart asked again to work with animals. This time, I listened, and began working in veterinary hospitals. I started as a veterinary assistant, then became a certified veterinary technician (CVT) for a combined eight years.
For me, the best moments in the animal hospital were helping people learn how to provide for their pets’ needs at home. This is why I decided to make Helping Paws Chicago a reality. Pets are my passion and I understand how special they are to their humans. Being both an educator and a veterinary professional have shaped my expertise, and I am ready to share it with you and your pets!
