When should I schedule care? 

When you have been instructed by your veterinarian to administer medications or treatments to your pet that you need help doing. If your pet is undergoing surgery, schedule aftercare visits as far in advance as possible. If your pet is currently hospitalized, reach out before they are discharged to go home. If you are requesting pet sitting services (must be medically, geriatric or special needs-focused), schedule as soon as you know the dates you will be away. Contact

What services are provided?

Help with your veterinarian’s at-home instructions for your pet and geriatric support. Instructions from your veterinary office are required before scheduling care visits. Assistance with general in-home pet grooming is also offered (no haircuts). Contact to get started.

Can I call for care if my pet is acting sick? 

First, contact your veterinarian for an appointment. From there, aftercare may be provided by Helping Paws Chicago, LLC based on your veterinarian's at-home instructions. 

How much does care cost?

Each pet’s needs and situation are unique. Pricing is determined on several factors (number of pets, frequency & duration of visits, travel time required, etc.). Contact for a free consultation and estimate.

What are your care hours? 

Hours are upon request & availability.

Can I cancel care visits? 

Yes. Visits may be cancelled 24 hours or more in advance of the scheduled appointment time. If a visit is cancelled within 24 hours, the contracted services will be billed in full.

Is dog walking/pet sitting service available? 

Helping Paws Chicago’s services are centered around medical, geriatric, & special needs support (as advised by a veterinarian). Therefore, pet sitting is available for pets who require this level of care. Feeding, scooping the litter box, and walking dogs (& love!) are included with pet sitting services. Is pet grooming part of your services? 

Helping Paws Chicago provides basic grooming services such as nail trimming, sanitary clipping, mat shaving, and ear cleaning.

What forms of payment are accepted? 

Helping Paws Chicago currently accepts cash (exact change, please), check, all major credit cards, Zelle, and Venmo. Zelle is preferred. An additional 3.8% is added to all credit card and Venmo transactions.

When is payment due? 

Payment is due at the time of service.

Are services purchased refundable? 

There is a 24 hr cancellation policy. No refunds granted for cancellations made within 24 hrs of the scheduled appointment time.
